Feeling beautiful also means feeling comfortable in your environment. But how can that be accomplished when you are surrounded by symbols and names that exclude people based on their appearance? A prominent example is the Mohrenstraße in Berlin. Many have already campaigned for the name to be changed. Unfortunately, the attempts have been unsuccessful so far, making it fun for people to take action themselves, although in an illegal way.
To prevent people from being confronted with this situation, gitti is sponsoring its "i" dots of Mohrenstraße, so that "Möhrenstraße" — in English carrot — can now become reality, at least until a new name is found. That's why gitti is releasing a special edition in matching carrot orange, its revenue going to support initiatives against racism and discrimination.
As an official sponsor, the "i" dots in the logo are also left off the company's own online shop and social media profiles, giving a nod to the campaign on all channels. It is also a sign that small gestures count to achieve progress in our society and stand up for more diversity and visibility.
